AdvisoriesAdvisory committees are required for each program and meet twice a year. The committees consist of past and present students, parents, local business partners, professional organizations, community classroom supervisors, college personnel and instructors, ROC/P site administration and the course instructor. The purpose of the advisory committee is to assist the teacher in keeping up with industry trends, current technologies, employment opportunities, curriculum and instructional needs, equipment and allocation of resources, student performance, on-the-job training expectations, program direction, and student assessment/competencies. The second meeting is scheduled as an Annual Advisory Dinner so that all ROC/P instructors from the various campuses may get together by industry sector to discuss the sequenced and coherent curriculum. This meeting includes their business partners and all other stakeholders, and outstanding students from each program who are recognized for their achievement. Instructors work closely with the advisory committees to ensure the curriculum is current, challenging, and prepares students for successful employment. |
