The Stock Market Game
Hundreds of Kern High School District students have gained a vital understanding of the nation’s financial markets through their Foundation-funded participation in the stock Market Game.

The Securities Industry Association sponsored Stock Market Game is a computer-assisted simulation of Wall Street trading. Each team manages an imaginary $1000,000 portfolio over a 10-week period.

During the 1998-1999 school year, the Bakersfield High stock market team captured first place in the national competition and was featured in the Wall Street Journal.

The Journal later conducted its own version of the stock market game, pitting the Driller squad against some of the nation’s top financial analysts and the Bakersfield team again proved victorious.
